CHOOSING A BREEDER

Do your research and make sure you are aquiring a dog from a reputable breeder. Quality comes from the knowledge the breeder has of their breeds standard, qualities, health issues, health clearances, and correct tempraments {especially both breeds}

A Newfoundland is a WET Mouthed breed. It is neccesary for the breed to have a 'wet' mouth due to what the breed was bred for...Water Work.

Other breed registries {Continental Kennel Club, NKC} are where many Back Yard Breeders (BYB's), Puppy Mills and Pet Stores get their dogs from.

Your breeder should be someone you can communicate and trust will all areas of your dog. Are they willing to be available for the life of your dog? Will they return your calls in a timely manner? These are very important questions to ask yourself when choosing your breeder.
